Footage of Elder Scrolls VI Tech shown during PAX East

Photogrammetry and Skyrim Grandma coming to Elder Scrolls VI

Bethesda revealed a 10 minute long video which showcased 25 years of the Elder Scrolls franchise. The video shares the developers moments during the development of the series , right from Elder Scrolls Arena, all the way up to Elder Scrolls Online. Towards the end, the developers also revealed their future plan for the series, i.e Elder Scrolls VI.

This is where it gets interesting. Instead of having artists create the environments from scratch, the team plans to use photogrammetry to scan real life structures, people and environments. Another surprise is the inclusion of the Skyrim Grandma, a.k.a Shirley Curry, in the upcoming Elder Scrolls VI game after the successful petition by hundreds of her fans. For those unaware, Shirley Curry has won the hearts of millions through her Elder Scrolls Skyrim Gameplay videos through her YouTube channel. You can see the photgrammetry process done on her, and including her as an NPC in the video below towards the end.
