PUBG Mobile Review

Chicken dinner for everyone!!! It's been almost three weeks since the hit pc game of 2017 found its way on to Android and iOS devices
The game broke records in 2017 as it finally made its
transistion to the mobile platforms. It was nothing short of amazing in all regards.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was an online multiplayer battle royale game that
dominated the Steam charts in 2017, overthrowing top game titles like Dota 2 and
Counter Strike. It finally made its way to Android and iOS on March 19th,2018.
It adds almost all the features found in the PC version along with some features exclusive to the mobile versions such as its daily
login bonuses and missions.
GAMEPLAY
First of all, the mobile version features all the same
features as the PC version, including the weapons, cosutmes and other gears.
The game has been optimized to work on mobile devices via its well placed
control layout for touch screens.
I always had a hard time playing shooting games like Modern Strike series and N.O.V.A on my mobile. And this game is no different. Trying to aim using the touch screen feels quite difficult but this is solved to some extent due to the game’s auto aim assist option. But to tell you the truth, the auto assist does take the fun out of the game.
Another very important feature that is available in the
mobile version is the automatic attaching of attachments to weapons when you
pick them up. The attachments attach themselves to the most suitable weapons
automatically. Similarly the game shows the best health items to use based on your
current status, which is helpful.
Similarily looting has become easier as the game
automatically picks up objects which are better than our current stash.
Something I felt uncomfortable regarding gameplay was vehicle control. It offers 4 buttons namely accelerate and reverse on one side while left and right on the other side of the screen. It felt awkward compared to other driving games.
GRAPHICS
I would say that the team has done a beautiful job in optimizing the graphics for mobile platforms. I wouldn't say it as exceptional but as far as I am concerned it is pretty neat. The game automatically assigns one of three graphics setting profile(i.e. low, medium and high) before you start playing.
Another thing to note that is the mobile version features
much less visual content compared to its PC
counterpart. Interior of game seems to be barren and there seems to be
no windows or doors in some cases. In some places, two separate rooms have been
combined to form a single large room. This is totally understandable as these
would require additional processing power to display them.
MULTIPLAYER
Initally after jumping into the game, I got my first rank as
7th and to tell you the truth, It felt too easy. Later I released
that most of the players were similar in looks and bot-like behaviour and most
of them couldn’t even shoot properly even when I was literally in front of
them. My suspisions were confirmed when others started similar cases. But now
after around two weeks, the game seems
to have become saturated with sufficient human players and it has become really
hard. So I am glad that was solved, otherwise it would turned out to be utterly
boring to be win all the time.
Another thing that comes to mind is that it does not feature
cross platform functionality like Fortnite Battle Royale, a direct rival to
PUBG.
The mobile version features Crews which helps the players to
form crews of thier own or join other crews out there.
VERDICT
I got my first Chicken Dinner in my second round and it was relatively easier compared to the PC version. But as time passed and as the game entered its second week since its release, more and more players have started playing and hence the number of bots has reduced greatly. Now it proves to be difficult to get even a rank around the 20's.
Another thing I noticed was that some players were using Android emulators such as Bluestacks in order to run the game on PCs. This enabled the players to use keyboard and mouse configuration which obviously gave them he upper hand when it comes to shooting.
But apart from this, the game is nothing but awesome and it can rightly be called the "KING OF MOBILE BATTLE ROYALE GAMES". It truly does stand out in the vast ocean of other battle royale games such as Rules of Survival, Free Fire and others. But it will be interesting to see if it could hold onto the title even after Fortnite releases across the world for both Andoid and iOS.
Hence my final verdict for PUBG Mobile is -
