Sea of thieves: Cursed Sails update brings Alliances and the undead sailing on the seas

Developer Rare has announced the second major update for Sea of Thieves named "Cursed Sails". It will be released on Julie 31st for PC and Xbox One.

Check out the reveal trailer below-

This new update will bring some major additions. One such addition is the introduction of skeletons who decide to take control of ghost ships and start sailing the high seas. Based on the trailer, it seems that the seafaring skeletons will spring up from the seas and take on the unsuspecting players.
It seems that the skeletons may even attack Outposts which are considered safe zones for players. If that is the case, then this update could bring a whole new level of challenge to players.

Inorder to combat this new threat, Rare has also developed an Alliance system which allows players to band together to fight the new Skeleton threat.

Also the update will introduce a new ship type. Now apart from Galleons and Sloops, you will also be able to ride the Brigantine. This ship will be able to accommodate upto three players.

Cursed Sails will include a time limited campaign which introduces the new elements. The three week long campaign will also feature a story plot which tells the story behind the Skeleton crews.

Even though, the campaign is time limited, the seafaring skeletons and Brigantine are here to stay.

Cursed Sails is the second of the six major updates to the game for this year, and it will be released on July 31st for the Windows PC and Xbox One.

It's good to see Rare updating the game with tons of content. Initially the game was barebones at release but now with constant content updates, the game seems to be back track.
