It's truly a "Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner" moment for all Android and iOS gamers out there. That's right, PUBG has finally hit the mobile platforms.
Wow, just few days back, the teaser trailer for fortnite's mobile version came out. Fortnite also started sending out invites for selected players on the iOS platform and also promised that they would soon be releasing on Android also. But it turns out that PUBG is the first one to hit the mobile platforms internationally for both iOS and Android.
Even though, the mobile version of PUBG was announced few months via a trailer, I didn't expect them to release it so fast. I believe they might have started feeling the competition from Fortnite, who was trying to secure its foothold on the mobile platforms.
For those unaware, PUBG or PlayerUnderground's Battlegrounds was the game that popularized the battle royale genre in 2017. In the game, upto 100 players are dropped on an island and they scavenge and equip weapons and resources to eliminate the other players in order to become the last man standing on the field. It turned out to be an instant success and also became a benchmark for other battle royale clones that came out.
The mobile version is said to be developed by Tencent Games, a chinese videogame company.
It seems like they were the largest videogame company of 2017 in terms of revenue. It is interesting to note that their subsidiaries include companies like Supercell - creators of Clash of Clans, Epic Games - developers of Fortnite Mobile.

For iOS users, iOS 9.0 or later is needed.
This turns out to be an advantage for PUBG as Fortnite requires iOS 11.

Anway I have started to download the game on my Android device, so I will keep you guys updated.
This month has been full of wonderful surprises for Android and iOS gamers with the announcement of games like Fortnite, ARK Survival Evolved and now PUBG. Even though both PUBG and Fortnite are battle royale type games, their playstyle varies greatly. PUBG takes on a realistic approach while Fortnite is more of a fun filled minecraft-style shooter. Initially, PUBG held the top spot in 2017, but as Fortnite came along, it has been a neck to neck battle. So it will interesting to see how well both games fare on the mobile platforms.
Tell me what you think about it and post your thoughts in the comments below.
